A Multi-Target Platform Bridging Clinical Production and Research Expansion
2026-03-10
The LB-11 MTS is a multifunctional medical cyclotron platform developed by LBT to support routine radionuclide production for nuclear medicine facilities while enabling expansion into research and advanced radionuclide applications.
It is designed to provide stable production of radionuclides used in daily PET-CT clinical applications and can also support regional supply models. With optional solid target capability, the LB-11 MTS offers expanded radionuclide options for scientific research and academic institutions.
As an important model within the LBT โLB Seriesโ portfolio, the LB-11 MTS is built upon years of R&D and engineering practice. Its mature system design balances operational stability, scalability, and long-term reliability, making it suitable for hospital-based radiopharmaceutical centers as well as regional production facilities.
๐น Multi-Target Compatibility for Diverse Radionuclide Production
The LB-11 MTS supports liquid, gas, and solid target systems, enabling the production of commonly used clinical and research radionuclides, including: ยนโธF, ยนยนC, ยนยณN, โถโธGa, โถโดCu, โธโนZr and others.
Liquid and gas targets support routine clinical diagnostic needs, while the optional solid target system enables the production of selected metallic radionuclides, supporting research translation and advanced nuclear medicine applications.
๐น Stable Production for Daily Clinical Operation
Under routine ยนโธF production mode, a single startup of the LB-11 MTS can support approximately 40โ60 patient doses for routine clinical use, meeting the daily operational needs of medium-to-large nuclear medicine departments or regional radiopharmaceutical centers.
The system is engineered with a focus on:
โข Continuous operational stability
โข Robust thermal management of the target system
โข Standardized operating workflows
โข Long-term reliability for extended service life
This design philosophy helps medical institutions maintain stable radionuclide supply while minimizing operational variability.
๐น Solid Target Expansion Connecting Research and Clinical Translation
The LB-11 MTS can be equipped with an optional solid target system and supporting transfer, dissolution, and purification modules to enable the production and processing of selected metallic radionuclides.
Its modular design allows future upgrades without major modification of existing hot cell layouts or facility structures. This flexibility makes the LB-11 MTS well suited for:
โข Research projects and academic studies
โข Exploration of emerging radionuclides
โข Clinical translation of metallic radionuclide applications
As a result, the LB-11 MTS not only supports routine diagnostic production but also supports the long-term development of nuclear medicine programs.
