π¬ IsotopeX Lab: Integrated Platform for Solid Target Radionuclide Production
Emerging radionuclides are expanding nuclear medicine applications, but translating them from research to clinical use requires coordinated control from target preparation and cyclotron irradiation to dissolution and purification.
βοΈ IsotopeX Lab https://www.chinacyclotron.com/isotopex-lab-product/ , developed by Longevous Beamtech (LBT), is an integrated platform designed to streamline solid target radionuclide production, simplifying operations while improving efficiency and reducing radiation exposure.
π§ͺ Target Preparation β Electroplating Module
The production workflow begins with solid target preparation. The Electroplating Module enables controlled electrochemical deposition of metallic target materials onto backing plates, ensuring uniform targets for stable cyclotron irradiation.
It supports the preparation of solid targets for metallic radionuclides such as βΆβ΄Cu, βΆβΈGa, βΈβΉZr and β΄β΄Sc, providing reliable foundations for downstream radionuclide production.
βοΈ Solid Target Irradiation Systems
Prepared targets are irradiated using dedicated solid target stations integrated with the cyclotron system.
IsotopeX Lab provides two irradiation configurations:
JG-I Solid Target System
A compact solid target station designed for reliable target irradiation and integration with downstream radiochemical processing modules.
JG-II Solid Target System
An advanced configuration equipped with a bidirectional automatic rabbit transfer system, enabling safe transport of irradiated targets between the cyclotron and processing modules while reducing manual handling and radiation exposure.
π§ͺ Radionuclide Dissolution and Transfer
To support different production configurations, the IsotopeX Lab platform provides paired dissolution modules corresponding to each solid target system.
Dissolving Module (JG-I) works together with the JG-I Solid Target System, enabling the dissolution of irradiated targets within the shield and transferring the radionuclide solution to hot cells for further purification and radiopharmaceutical synthesis.
Dissolving Module (JG-II) is designed to operate with the JG-II Solid Target System, integrating automated target transfer and controlled dissolution workflows for improved operational safety and processing efficiency.
π¬ Radionuclide Purification
After dissolution, the radionuclide solution is processed through the Purification Module, where chemical separation is performed. Integrated pumps, valves, and cartridge-based pathways enable efficient radionuclide purification for downstream radiopharmaceutical synthesis or research applications.
