What are the facility requirements for installing one of LBT's cyclotrons?
Space Requirements
The installation area must provide sufficient clearance for the cyclotron unit, associated equipment, and maintenance access. Our compact solution requires approximately 200-300 square meters of dedicated floor space. The ceiling height should accommodate the magnet assembly and cryogenic supply lines, generally requiring a minimum of 3 meters.
Shielding Requirements
Radiation shielding is a critical component of cyclotron installation. LBT provides detailed shielding calculations and recommendations based on your specific configuration and local regulatory requirements. Shielding typically consists of concrete walls with varying thickness (typically 1-2 meters depending on energy level). If associated with our dedicated self-shielding system, the wall thickness can be lowered 0.5 meter minimum. Utilities
